Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and America's War Veterans
I just got done reading an interesting book about PTSD and Vietnam Veterans called ACHILLES IN VIETNAM : Combat Trauma and the Undoing of Character by Jonathan Shay. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in considering some of the unknown costs of war. I also found some other interesting articles on PTSD that are worth reading which are posted below:
The Struggle to Gauge a War's Psychological Cost from the New York Times
After wars, vets still fight battles by Peter G. Chronis of the Denver Post
VA chief: homelessness a priority from the Denver Post
Also check out a free collection of articles about post traumatic stress disorder published in The New York Times since 1996 by clicking here.
